Delivered by resident stage make-up artist and photographer, Melanie Winning, Theatre Workout can now offer you a unique and insightful series of workshops on the use of stage make-up, costume and photography.

West End Programmes:

90 Minute Master Class:

Featuring information and advice on the use of make-up in theatre and film and a practical demonstration of make-up application. Each workshop is tailored to your group.

Musicals: Comparisons on the use of make-up in shows such as Showgirl, Ballet, Cats, Moulin Rouge.

Historical: 18th Century, Clowns, Pantomime.

Genre: Character make-up, Straight Make-Up, Ageing the Theatre Standards

Demonstration and Design: Demonstrations on one or two volunteers from the group who will be made-up by Mel with guidance from the rest of the group.

Special Effect Workshop

A hands-on 3 hour workshop with make-up and equipment provided.

The workshop includes basic special affects such as cuts, bruises and the application of prosthetic pieces.

One or two day residential workshop: Ideal for NVQ Level 2 BTEC First Make-Up For Stage Performers.

 

This is a hands-on workshop with make-up and equipment provided.  We will talk through all the various options with teachers in advance and usually work with groups of about 20 students at a time, although we can work with more on request.

One Day Workshop:

1.       Understanding basic range of stage make-up and techniques

2.      Be able to prepare basic designs

3.      Application of design on model - ususally a volunteer from the group

4.      Health and safety aspects of make-up and equipment.

One day workshop from £450.00*

Day Two (Can also be booked as a separate Day)

1.       Fashion Make-up 

2.      Editorial Theatrical Fashion Design 

3.      Students work on each other with their own designs

4.      Photography of students work with professional lighting 

5.     The best images will be sent to you on CD, usually with one image per student for you to print and display.

DAY 2 as Separate Day from £550. Book both as a Two day workshop with photography from just £850 saving £150!

One Day Workshop with Photography

 

Morning: Design and application demonstrations which can be tailored to the production you are studying/performing in school. (Please provide references for designs in advance so we can provide the correct supplies and equipment).

 

Afternoon: Students will work on each other to complete their own designs. These are then photographed in character with work accessorised with wigs and hats etc.

 

Theatre Workout will bring professional lighting and a full portable studio.

 

Images are provided on disc ready to print and display in your school/college.

Production Design Advice.

 

Make-Up, Advice & Hair Design - a practical consultation session ideal for school or college productions which is regularly booked by professional drama schools.

Inset days For Teachers:

A hands-on workshop for teachers which covers a broad range of advice, techniques and practices regarding the use of stage make-up, costume and design. All materials are provided.
