"Brilliant! It’s wonderful to see the kids loosening up during these two hours, from shy to really stand there and do their thing. We will get more theatre assignments during our classes, it’s important, I’m convinced

Theatre is again becoming recognised as a vital educational tool in schools. Our workshops have been proven to develop improvements in students confidence, ability to interact and work with others, and to engage in exercises creatively and with imagination.

Some examples of workshops currently in development include...

24 Hour Theatre Challenge: Create a 100% original theatre production in just 24 hours!

A unique and challenging programme designed to create an entirely new theatre performance in just 24 hours! This programme can take place over 2-3 days, with the performance taking place in the 23rd hour. Ideal for boarding schools and specialist arts schools.

 Play in a Day: Unlike food, plays are meant to be played with!

Whether you are stuck on Shakespeare, losing it with Lorca or just plain bored with Brecht, plays are written to be performed. Theatre Workout will teach you how to stage your chosen play, to bring the play to life and make sense of that soliloquy. Whether part of coursework or just for fun, this is an excellent way to gain a strong and practical knowledge of acting and text interpretation.

Existing programmes include: A Midsummer nights Dream; Romeo & Juliet; Much Ado About Nothing and The Seagull;

I Want To Act Forever: Bespoke acting classes.

Each workshop is individually tailored to your group's needs and interests. Areas explored include the theories and techniques of many well-known practitioners from Stanislavski to Artaud, with practical career advice on working as an actor.

School Leavers Master Class: Beat the competition.

A student version of Theatre Workout's Theatre in Business programme, this Master-Class explores how simple acting techniques can help give students an extra boost to help them get through interviews for university or employment. Areas covered include presentation skills, public speaking, communication and interaction.

The Power of The Mask: Mask Master-Class

Ideal for groups interested in shows such as The Phantom of the Opera or The Lion King. This workshop explores performance techniques of mask-work, character development, the realisation of your Inner Mask and the physical creation of that mask. We also work on puppetry and West-End productions as part of this workshop.

If you would like to work with Theatre Workout in your school, please get in touch and let us know what you want to do. We can provide you with trained professional actors/teachers with full CRB clearence to work with you and your students.
